Comms Business names Ring2 Conferencing as a Finalist for Most Innovative Channel Service - press release

Posted: Friday, April 18, 2008

LONDON – April 18th 2008 – Ring2 Conferencing, the world’s first audio-conferencing company to offer remote control of calls from a mobile device, announced today that it has been named a finalist for the Comms Business Most Innovative Channel Service Award. The Award recognises the impact services, introduced in 2007, have made in the Channel.

Ring2 is one of six finalists in the Most Innovative Channel Service of the Year category. The other finalists are MLL Telecom, NewNet, Servassure, Viatel and Voiceflex.

Ring2’s innovative service is a premium business audio-conferencing service, which eliminates familiar problems and frustrations for conference callers by turning a BlackBerry® smartphone into a remote call management tool. Users still dial into the call from any phone, but can then separately take remote control of the call from their BlackBerry smartphone for increased visibility, security and control.  They receive an alert when the first invited participant joins and can then:

  • Join as leader from a phone of their choice
  • See a real-time list of participants as they join or leave the call
  • Ensure nobody is listening in who shouldn't be
  • Add a missing participant from the BlackBerry address book
  • Mute the participant with distracting background noise
  • Record the call, downloadable as an MP3 file

"We’re delighted to be counted as one of the leading new products for the UK channel" said John Flynn, European VP of Sales at Ring2. "Our service has a simple, powerful customer proposition, a very manageable sales cycle, and a really significant recurring revenue opportunity for our channel partners."

The winners of the Comms Business Awards 2008 will be announced at a gala dinner on June 5th at The Royal Lancaster Hotel, London.
